DESCRIPTION:

This is a beautiful, highly decorative map of the Holy Land divided into the twelve tribes. The map is flanked by two large panels of historical text and framed by an ornate decorative border that was drawn and engraved by Martinet. These decorative borders were found only in the deluxe edition of Buy de Mornas’s four volume Atlas Méthodique et Elémentaire de Géographie et d'Histoire, published by Louis Charles Desnos.
