DESCRIPTION:
Separate publication. This is the earliest folio-sized printed map of Captain Cook's third voyage, on which he explored the northwest coast of America and Alaska and was the first European to discover Hawaii. Although a note below the map says that it was engraved from one that appeared in the Gentlemen's Magazine of December 1780, that map has never been found.
