John Senex (c.1678-1740) was one of the most important English map publishers and globe makers of the first half of the eighteenth century. The map was probably published jointly by Charles Price and Senex around 1710. This is a later undated state with Senex’s imprint alone. It is a large-scale general map of Scandinavia. In addition to Sweden, it shows Norway, Denmark and Finland. The new city of St. Petersburg (founded 1703) is shown at the head of the Gulf of Finland.
