CONDITION:

Color-printed lithograph with additional color added by hand in watercolor. 10” x 8.” Very slight chipping to edge of margins in a couple of places, overall very good condition.

DESCRIPTION:

This attractive aerial view of the City of Savannah was published in celebration of the 100th anniversary of American Independence. It is enclosed in a border that takes the shape of a shield, with the dates 1776 and 1876 superimposed in the upper left and right corners. Two vignettes in the lower corners celebrate the growing and marketing of cotton. The handsome late 19th century city spreads towards the distant horizon with many of its important landmarks easily identifiable.
