Scarce. This is a fine ante-bellum map of Arkansas, with excellent topographical detail and locating roads, towns, forts and counties. There is a table along the top margin that gives distances between various points from Little Rock to New Orleans, Little Rock to Pittsburg, and Little Rock to Port Gibson (Miss.)

David Rumsey says that the
Hand-Atlas was “Meyer’s grandest production, a real tour de force that has fifty maps of the Americas … the finest German atlas of the mid 19th century.” Included is a suite of maps of American states derived from those in Tanner’s and Mitchell’s editions of the Universal Atlas. These German versions “are beautifully done and in some cases superior to the American originals.” Rumsey locates an edition of the Hand-Atlas dated 1860.
