This state appeared in Sayer & Jefferys’ 1768 A General Topography of North America and the West Indies, one of the rarest of all 18th century atlases. A second state of the map appeared in Jefferys’ West India Atlas in 1775 with significant changes, including the addition of a large inset map and profile of Nevis in the upper right, and scale borders around the map. Ravell’s map would become the standard 18th century map of the island.
