This decorative sea chart shows the western Indian Ocean, from the east cost of Africa to the west coast of India. Arabia and the Persian Gulf are shown in entirety.
Renard bought the printing plate from the firm of Frederick De Wit, and updated it. The name of the Maldives has been added, for example. The chart is ornamented with a spectacular baroque cartouche in the lower left corner
