DESCRIPTION:

This handsome, large-scale, minutely detailed map is ornamented with a large baroque cartouche wth putti, cornucopias and acanthus. It shows the Province of Languedoc, roughly the region between the Rhone and the Garonne rivers and the Mediterranean coast. To the north, it extends beyond the Lot River, and includes much of the Perigord.

The map also appeared in Jaillot’s “Atlas Francois.”
